How to Make $100,000 as a Personal Trainer
In the movie, "The Gladiator," Emperor Commodus' rose to power early on because he realized what was most important to the people of Rome. Most would believe influence would be gained by the accumulation of wealth and fame. In Rome it was neither. The greatness of Rome was found in the "sands of the coliseum." Rome was built on the idea of being great. And everyday that was shown in the battles in the arena. In the day, Rome was not a normal city. Like any progressive city, it had many of oppositions. Rome exists today because of the blood that was shed for hundreds of years for the idea it stood for. Greatness will always come with a price. Maximus "the gladiator", a man who loved his city for what it stood for, in the end died a noble man who served Rome well. As a general or a slave, Maximus never forgot who mattered most, the People. "Win the crowd, and you will win your freedom." --The Gladiator Twenty years of counseling trainers and consulting health clubs have taught me many things. However, nothing has hit home to me more than this; being a six figure a year personal trainer has more to do with people than numbers on an exercise chart or treadmill. My advice to the health club owners, fitness directors and personal trainers; get back to giving great service to the member and client. With all the fitness clubs and wellness products offered today, wouldn't you think America would be getting thinner? You are not. Why do you think that is? Here are five things to remember and one thousand dollars of free advice, if you want to make it big as a personal trainer: #1: Be sold out to your profession - Act like a professional #2: Understand, it's not about YOU! - Leave your ego at the door. #3: Never forget where you come from - Take people for granted and they will leave. #4: Practice what you preach - Talk your walk! #5: Do whatever it takes - Have an ethical game plan. Gladiator, I salute you! Greg is a best selling author and high profile fitness expert. A former employee of Kathy Smith and fitness trainer to the stars. Greg spends most time now counseling other trainers, speaking, and writing books. Why Bosses Dont Get All the News Not long ago, a friend who works in television complained that the industry has no interest in real business stories. Forget Resolutions - Craft A Life Theme That Works How many people do you know who, in January, enthusiastically name their resolution for the year yet somehow neglect to follow through with it a few weeks or months later? Forget making New Year's resolutions. They rarely work because they are often based on "shoulds" versus the bigger picture of your life. The American Dream - Are We Really Free? The promises of THE AMERICAN DREAM (to have it all and enjoy it all, based on materialistic values system) has been holding us captive and threatening to take our power and freedom away- without our awareness, like a thief in the night.Consciously or unconsciously we make daily decisions to either be a master of our own ship or destiny, if you will, or be a slave to our own circumstances and to other people*s expectations and belief systems that don*t serve our highest good and purpose. In addition there's the third option of the self coached team, which I will call committee from here on forward. Integrating Life and Work Organizations are finally creating cultures that support a work and life balance for their employees. After years of demanding high productivity and increasing on the job hours and expectations and not achieving the hoped-for better results, companies are finally embracing polices and procedures that support employees in integrating their life and work experience. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: How Do You Change the World? Recently, I saw an exhibition of paintings by a very talented artist. He clearly has a social conscience and his depictions of the pain and misery of disenfranchised and minority people are so vivid and real you can't help but feel the pain in viewing the paintings. Bringing Forgiveness Down To Earth What does it mean to forgive? One of the first things we typically think when we hear the word "forgive" is that it is a spiritual concept that is mostly out of reach for us mortal human beings. The bible talks about it, pastors implore us to forgive, we might believe that it is something that we "should" do but for the most part, most of us find it very difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish. A Murder Mystery Puzzle for You to Solve Anybody who has visited my website at Motivation & Self Esteem for Success or has read any of the many articles I have written will realise what a proponent I am of reading books and educating yourself. But accomplishing your goals while at the same time feeling inner peace means doing things differently than you've done them before. Grow Through It It's past bedtime for most working men. It's not unbearably late and I have no appointments tomorrow morning so I sit here and contemplate. Handling Disappointment Disappointment is an inevitable part of home-based business. Clients won't pay, bids fall through, or business associates don't come through on their promises or act unethically.
